ESP32-S3 room card: e-ink status tile that pulls from Home Assistant

A palm-sized e-ink tile for each room that shows climate, next calendar event and whether windows are open – powered for months on a coin cell or tiny LiPo.

How It Could Work

Use an ESP32-S3 (or C3 for lower power) with a 2.9in or 4.2in e-paper panel. An ESPHome config (or Arduino deep-sleep loop) wakes every 15–30 minutes, fetches a few Home Assistant sensor states over Wi-Fi, renders a sparse dashboard and sleeps. Add a BME280 for local temperature so the card stays useful offline. A magnetic back lets it stick to a fridge or doorframe. Keep the UI to 3–5 large fields so partial refreshes are fast.
