About This Project
airRohr is the maintained firmware for Sensor.Community's DIY particulate-matter sensor. The recommended kit is a NodeMCU ESP8266, an SDS011 fine-dust sensor and a BME280 for temperature, humidity and air pressure, mounted inside a weatherproof pipe with a short flexible tube. You flash the board with the airRohr Flashing Tool before assembly, join the station's own Wi-Fi network to enter your home Wi-Fi, and after about ten minutes it starts uploading. A Sensor.Community account lets you register the station by its ChipID so it appears on the public map. Ideal placement is 1.5 to 3.5 meters above the street with good ventilation.
