  • Inputs: existing wired alarm sensors, sirens
  • Integrations: Home Assistant, SmartThings, Hubitat, OpenHAB, Alexa
  • API: local two-way REST

About This Project

Konnected integrates the wired door, window and motion sensors and sirens of an existing alarm system with SmartThings, Alexa, Home Assistant, OpenHAB and Hubitat. The open-source firmware runs on the ESP8266, built on the NodeMCU Lua firmware, and it powers Konnected's commercial Alarm Panel products; you can also run it on a compatible ESP8266 development board. Devices talk to local platforms through a two-way real-time REST API, or to the optional Konnected Cloud for SmartThings and Alexa. Setup is: flash the firmware and filesystem, join the device's own Wi-Fi network to configure it, then wire the sensors following the getting-started guide. The repository was last updated in 2023, so check the docs for current hardware.
